Hello there, Readers !!! Gauri, you can also call me agirlwstories . A brief introduction about me would be — a human who overthinks and writes about the slice of life, nature, cinema and aesthetics around the world.

This is my first blog, writing & romanticising about the beauty of — CALL ME BY YOUR NAME.

I have never witnessed myself falling for scenes and elements so much in my whole existence. I remember every bit and piece of this cinematic magic. If you believe in the world that has the power to please your eyes — watch CALL ME BY YOUR NAME.

This cinematic art celebrates the love in fringes of being a lover & being a friend. You evolve with many people but the heart leads where it felt the most. The protagonist revolves around echoes of attraction & culture of the world.

Oliver — the first Jewish assistant of Elio’s father. Jewish ancestry played an important part in evolving the characters and portraying their identity of themselves in the movie. You will notice various scenes, leading one to another forming a connection of Judaism.

Religious perspective is just a small piece of the aesthetic universe of Call Me By Your Name. The story holds its more powerful impressions by leading protagonists to fall for each other yet not let their guard down and move on after whatever they have ever felt.

You never try to destroy what you have felt, you keep it inside and reminisce for a lifetime. Also, you gotta let it go as the world doesn’t revolve around the thread of Love only.

This summer love story makes you fall in love more with the season. We all know when we get trapped by someone’s thoughts it's hard to let it go, the harder you try, the more emotions come back later with buckets of tears and sorrowful nights.

Elio — never accepted that he liked Oliver in the first place, complaining about his word later, calling him arrogant and being jealous of him as he was so present in the moment, that Elio was not able to take his eyes off him.

Elio loved his presence of mind when they talked about sculptures, history, wars, books, and music and the way Oliver picks up the language and unlock the newest weakness of Elio’s heart.

Elio finds him arrogant and said — What if I don’t like him, grew to hate him, with the thoughts of already falling for him?

Elio is the purest and true to colours human which has Oliver figured out. Oliver loved the way Elio describes things. Oliver loved when Elio plays the piano and experimented with various ballets, poems and music.

Call Me By Your Name — a slow reverb that penetrates and feeds the acoustic brain.

The aromatic love, pouring tease, care and serene weather is all that your eyes and heart will touch while watching it. The quarrel of love is what we miss when we reach a certain age, the need to find more and the belongings of a person — we often skip these parts and try to immerse in the body. We keep our guard up to make sure certainty of our own possessions and position, we tend to forget that letting yourself flow is a means of living with a person.

Elio — depicts the courage, the tenderness of our youngest desires, hesitation of saying it all yet fear of reactions while Oliver — depicts the older self of ourselves where we know what makes us beautiful inside out yet we are tied with the rules that are already published by the world. We never forget what we felt but we let it go.

Elio — says most of everything by saying nothing at all while Oliver — understands everything by figuring out the senses from the surrounding.

I love these quoted lines from this cinematic art —

Grow up, I’ll see you at midnight

The irony lies here and lies to the world. Growing up shows that Elio might be doing something childish yet you know you fall for the person, you gave the chance as you can’t resist and never want to lose the probability of any days being separated more. You burn the boundaries and tie yourself to the desire by saying — I’ll see you at midnight.

Oliver finds himself in the dilemma of being right or falling for a moment, oftentimes. He always wanted to make sure Elio is comfortable and understanding without thinking of any sins.

In between the conversations about World Wars, sculptures, historic events, Italy and the beauty of being vulnerable will keep your mind up for the art to see more of it.

Oliver — I love the way you say things.

Elio — I love this Oliver. (near his favourite spot)

these two quoted sentences are not in order but come in an order of how they fall for each other.

I love how Elio — wears the necklace and waits for Oliver for the days while rain pours from the clouds reminiscing with the pain.

Separation hurts, hurts more than the injury on the skin. Appreciating the moments when parents understand your emotions as you live in them. Elio’s parents especially his father — a requirement in this shallow world. Way he highlights and says never put an end to the things you feel, never make yourself escape or hide from the heart and its vulnerable emotion because, in the end, no one looks at the body, all you are left with the memories and you need to keep it alive by sensing and inhaling most of it. Don’t let anyone borrow your sorrow or love because in the end — you need the lessons & joys from it. You need to live with everything.

You will fall with the depths and aromatic pleasure of this masterpiece.

Love, always
